Worship at the foot of the cross

Our Worship

“… Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:23 - 24

He answered, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind' and 'Love your neighbour as yourself.'"

Luke 10:27

God alone is worthy of our worship and our praise.  Through worship we demonstrate that we value God above all else.  We acknowledge God’s worth, character - faithfulness, love, authority, power, goodness, holiness … We give thanks that through Jesus, God offers forgiveness and salvation for all people.  Through worship we enter into the Presence of God, offering all that we are – body, spirit, heart, mind and soul – in praise, prayer and thanksgiving.

Our worship is in response to the love of a creative God who calls us to worship with all that we are.  This includes using our creativity. We encourage creative worship including through song and music, art, writing, dance, drama and quiet, contemplative reflection.

The pressures and demands of modern life often means space to worship and develop intimacy with God can be difficult to find.  We follow a weekly rhythm of prayer and worship – time dedicated to focussing on God.  We offer quiet spaces for reflection, prayer, reading and writing; as well as spaces to play musical instruments, draw, paint or walk.   These spaces are open to all.
